特徵:又稱八角茴香,是一種喬木植物的果實。果實呈花狀八片瓣,裡頭帶種子,乾燥後就是常見的深咖啡色或是棕褐色。味道:先甜後苦的滋味,有類似甘草的濃郁香氣。用途:烹飪、滷味、茶飲、酒品、甜品、高湯底、調味。
